This is continuation of a subject started in the Forum:

With all the talk about what we are trying to accomplish with this joint effort ( developers resources/comparisons directory, educational tools for open source developers, etc ), it got me thinking that we need to get a clear idea of what we are trying to accomplish. There are several (at least 2+) ideas/projects that are being discussed, and a couple of times the threads have gotten "inter twined" with each other.

Something that might clear these matters up would be creating a Mission Statement for the project:

I googled "Open Source Mission Statement" (w/o quotes in search) and the first link was the Open Source Application Foundation Mission Statement. Take some time to read it!

Considering who we are, and what we are going to do, this seems like a good example of what info that we need to create a Mission Statement of our own.

It does not matter what experience you have or what you do with it I am happy being a nOOb as much as I loath the term.
I would hate to think I know everything, that would be boring, for me the fun comes out of learning or being able to help other people, I really struggled with Joomla at first but now i could probably do a clean install blindfolded as I have done it that often, but mainly because I kept breaking it in the begining...happy days.
I dont code its another language to me but I dont feel less of a user for that as each to their own, like computer games of years back where one person did it all now everyone has there part to play no matter what that part is be it coder or end user, no end user then whats the point of the coder and vice versa.
I only learn what I need to learn to get the job done and if I needed to learn new things to get that done then I will look forward to the learning curve.
