I have lost count of the times I have seen faces of disappointment when an article editor clicks on that lovely Joomla preview button only to see the bare bones of their article pop-up in a modal stylee.

Huge but fairly safe assumption: I think what people really want to see is the article in all its glory - full contextual surround of the template, plugins and modules display.

So I scratch head and wondered how to achieve this in J1.5

The solution seemed to come back to version control or having draft versions of articles. If you have a draft of an article you can preview it in real-time without affecting your live article. So lets get some draft versions in the editing interface and we can preview them. Simple. We can roll back to different versions and publish them too.

After some sketches on napkins over dinner, some quick API check s [can we do this? - oh yeah cool!]  and a quick code sprint we came up with www.contentversion.com

There's a demo available so we'd love some feedback if you have a mo!
