Hello guys,

First of all, I'd like to thank Amy for creating this wonderful network, it feels incredibly 'safe' to be here surrounded by experts considering I am a complete newbie. :)

A little about myself: I'm Beatriz, 25 y/o, based in Italy. I work as web designer and as an art gallery assistant in a small town called Salerno (you've probably heard of the Amalfi coast... and mozzarella di buffala, hehe)

Anyway, I've been 'playing' with Joomla for past couple of weeks, I'm redesigning and implementing my boss's art gallery website with some CMS, however I have a few perplexities (very elementary I suppose) concerning the graphics/layout.

this is what's been done so far:
www.galleriaverrengia.it/NEW/homepage (the Italian version is the only one activated at the moment)

My questions are:

1) Is it possible to set a different background for each page when using one single template? If yes, is there a tutorial for newbies regarding this matter?

2) Is it possible to adapt fullscreen background to whatever screen resolution with CSS only?

I've tried the Joomla official forum but the latest post about it is from 2007 - and it couldn't really help me.

Thank you very much for your kind attention...

All my best,
B.

Buongiorno a tutti,

Thanks so much for the support, my problem is solved! :)
You guys rock!

I must say that I ended up following Laura's and Martin Blodau's advice (brilliant!) - I'm not a PHP programmer so it was definetely the easiest solution for me *my mind is HTML/CSS/Actionscript oriented only* :(

I must admit I tried both Rene Kreijveld's and Jonathan Lackey's options but I wasn't capable to get the site running properly...

Thank you all for your help and patience.

I'm falling in love with Joomla everyday more :)

I wish you guys a lovely weekend...

All my best,
B.
For the different backgrounds you can also try this:

Make a bacis template.css and a css file for every color or image such as green.css, blue.css etc. Check the menu Itemid and then put this code in the index.php of your template file. You''ll have something like this:
