Newsflash for sections?

Anyone know an extension that works the SAME as the standard newsflash module but displays articles from a section rather than a category...

I found

but this doesn't display the same as the core module and messes up my site...

right hand column shows 2 special offers but the above module breaks them out from the module position whereas the original core module was fine...

Look at a module called "Display News" (mod_dn), it will give more settings (e.g. by Section) than the core Joomla Newsflash module...

For 1.5 I used AidaNews, the most flexible latest news module, http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-display/latest-news/11652. For 1.6 I don't know yet.
