Thx Dex,
I just need to get my ducks in a row and put together a proposal for the JTD.
In that proposal, I'd like to include some names for volunteer moderators, can I include you? Anyone else?

Hey Kyle,
You might take a look at Sobi2 for a directory. It has custom fields, and a download plugin as well as a rating and review plugin.

There is also a template already made to look like the JED, so we could easily tweak it to fit.

Plus Sobi2 is fully GPL for what we are going to use...

(me being on the dev team there has nothing to do with my plug for Sobi2... yeah right!)

Hi Robert,
I'll be sure to include this option with my proposal. A JTD is in such need that I'm really looking for that path of least resistance with the OSM here, whichever solution that me be. The only reason I suggesting copying the existing structure is bc that's how the JRD got pushed through.

Well if for some reason the project doesn't fly with the OSM, I would be more than happy to donate the tools and time to set up a directory for you on whatever site you build to house this using Sobi2!

I agree!!!! Joomla will really have an advantage then!!! As many template designers and developers there are in the Joomla sphere, I was shocked to see that there wasn't a template community.

TemplateWorks has some nice ones!!!
