Hi all
I have been absent from this community for some time chasing up some personal business. Well to be precise I have been taking the giant leap in to gender reassignment. So for anyone who may know me already, I am now ...male.
For anyone who…

I am keen to know if we are using the community site
(a) are we authorised to do so
(b) what branding and other rules are inherent
(c) what subdomain do we use and how can we get a copy of Joomla…
@Brian Teeman Suggesting elements for the magazine front page. Different from those in the mockup, some of which we can use, but some we cant. It's common to wireframe requirements for a design, no? I'm just throwing it open for discussion.
well that depends a bit on what Fotis says, I think. Thanks for your ideas - I'm not fixed, but keen to reduce workload as everyone is a volunteer and editing is a big job.
Also we need to check with Fotis re. the issue thing - can we pre-produce an issue (all its content, modules, ads, author bios..etc) and then publish as a whole? I'm not familiar with K2 so Fotis can you please guide us here?
thanks
Dex
Thanks Paul.
I had assumed that the site would be offline during development (so yes, in a test environment at that point) but once the magazine is launched, for each issue we would not use a sandbox environment to edit articles. The articles wont…
Thanks Fotis - nice job, I like it. But I do agree with Brian - it needs to have mag issues, not blogs.
Also do we have complete free rein or should we be branding this with the joomla.org header, per other subdomain.joomla.org? I will check just…
Just re-reading this thread in the light of recent discussions....
I wonder if paying a couple of developers is that bad? There are not 100s of volunteers on this project, there are 1000s. I put a lot of time in to the project, but I dont mind the…
yes, i do read your blog. I think it hits the mark.
thanks for your input and i hope i it's ok to run other ideas past you, as you have much experience?
To be honest, I think a two or three stage review process is too cumbersome. In fact, the workflow as detailed above seems a little prohibitive to me. I dont have endless hours to re-work and edit - who does? - so I would prefer a much tighter…
OK guys after a small absence I am ready to take this on now. Yes it would be good to hear from Fotis. And then we should pop out some quick rules and get submissions rolling in. January probably not poss by now, we'll get a better result if…

Thanks, Dex, for always helping keep things organized and helping get good information out to people. Sometimes, I think we really forget about how important it is to let folks know what's going on. You are one in the Joomla! community who helps fill that gap and it's appreciated. It's time we start collaborating more closely as Extension and Site developers. I think we have some very bright people in the community who can learn from each other's experiences. This is a good way to get started on that, I think!
