I agree that certification has great value especially if it is centrally organised by the Core Team from the Joomal site. It would provide an independent for developers/administrators to demonstrate their Joomla knowledge and competence. And it…

As I've said in the past Amy, count me. I currently have the time and desire to work on this magazine. Also I think we really need to cover non Joomla topics such as standard web design practices.

Many of the so-called Joomla questions I answer on the forums, are actually web design/hosting questions... So I would like to volunteer to write a small section title something like "NOTHING ABOUT JOOMLA". In this article we could talk…

We've used Registration Pro a bit in the past. Did pretty good for event registrations and payments etc... We also did not like the lack of customization on ResourceBookingPro.

I found RS Events to be the best booking system currently available for Joomla. It's not ideal as it's made for 'events' but combined with RS Form Pro is better than anything else. See my customisation in action here A year ago…

Looking for resource booking system

Hey all I'm looking for something to manage things like "Tennis Courts" and the like. So not really just a calendar, but something that allows certain amount of time slots/numbers to be allocated to a resource.Anyone used something like this, and could you give me some suggestions?See More

I might sound a bit less cerebral, but I think most of us have...eyes. Most of us can see a site made in Joomla and assess in a couple of minutes (sometimes seconds) the "certification" level of the pple behind it, can't we? Might be…

I completely agree, HarryB, it would be a big mistake to do it as part of the Joomla! project. This is something individual businesses with expertise in training and certification processes should offer as part of their normal services. After 25…

All kidding aside, I agree with Sully and the One True Brian. Certification is a huge undertaking and once initiated requires constant care and feeding (and $$$ to cover the ongoing operating costs). I don't think this will work as a volunteer…

Feel free to call me Sully to distinguish me from the One True Brian. I am not sure if I have any certificates but my friends tell me I'm certifiable.

Joomla Certification

I've been thinking about this for sometime now, and wonder what others think of the idea.

Essentially I feel that Joomla is big enough now to be able to set some standards so that when end users (clients) are looking for a developer they might have some type of benchmark or accreditation system that they can see from X or Y developer.

Nothing elitist about this, rather a way to "try" to sort out different operators from the ones who might not carry out their business in the same… Continue
