Hola Joomla People:

I installed my 1st version of Joomla on the day that it was released as a fork from Mambo.
It all started with www.spookytoothcycles.com (orig. built w/ mambo, but then relaunched as Joomla + Virtuemart + Fireboard)....
Then came www.editorialdepartment.com...
After building another dozen J! 1.0 sites, I began concentrating on building Joomla sites integrated with Community Builder & other integrated components, the 1st of which was Ideatango in '07, which became www.inventbay.com in '08... evolving into a "Vortal" aka Vertical Industry Online Community, including multiple directories (SOBI, Mosets), forum (Fireboard/Kuena), all hacked together on a multi-tiered ACL subscription model that utilized AEC... JUGA ... MyBlog... JomComment... Acajoom Newletter and lots more... those are the sites that have 4 figure amounts of users...and I could have NEVER done that if it weren't for the support of fellow-Joomla developers...who when contacted, pitched in with helping hands. I learned a huge amount from all of them!
As I continue to grow and expand our list of Joomla 1.5.x sites... I've been highly aware of how lucky I am to have heard about this when it all started, and I realize how much I owe to this community... I'm sure glad to see this new ning.com project start. Kudos to those who are founding an ever larger network of "best of class" people in an important segment of our industry. I'm proud to be a part of the Joomla Community.
Peace.Out
