I think it has to do with the CMS side of Joomla. i.e. the admin area, front-end cms logic, xml-rpc, etc.

@Stian - I see what you're saying. DIGG released a great plugin for jQuery that allows for creating classes similar to how MooTools does it. It's not native to the core though.

In terms of MVC, what can MooTools do that jQuery can't? Or that you can't use by just applying MVC practices while building a jQuery app?

I use jQuery for the same reasons as Amy. Love it. I like the logic flow of jQuery too. MooTools is probably more like a traditional programmers approach...but jQuery just FEELS right.
