"Hey Steven, name dropping my name will get you nowhere! Now absolutely NO ONE will speak to you! Talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words... and by that statement, here's what I mean... Instead of trying to build a component with a 3rd…"

Building a rapport with the community

Building a rapport with a community is not as quite an easy task as it sounds to be. I've been 'lurking' around the community of Joomla! for a while now. The word 'while' is using pretty loosely. I think I've been hanging around outside the scene looking in for a good 3 years or so. I haven't really jumped in and joined groups and engaged in conversation with my people about it. Here (ATAAW) is really the first 'group' I've joined pertaining to J!.Thanks, to Robert Vining by the way for getting…See More

"Steven, don't be too easily dissuaded about a side income through Google Ads. You can still leverage through clicks. And you can get a better rate through OpenX. Combined by using the OpenX Joomla plugin. Robert does have a point, yes, Google…"

"Here's an idea. How about looking for a slightly broader niche. For example you could create a website about thing to do and places to go in your region. Plus your travel costs should be tax deductible. Essentially an online travel guide of…"

I have not blogged before, really. I've put in a few posts here and there on different websites, but never really kept up with them. It is nearly impossible to get people to follow you with the amount of information out there today. Especially with the amount of people that blog now-a-days.Sitting here bored, I've gotten my main focus website pretty much right where I want it. Everything is working the way it should and everything is right where it needs to be. That leads me to my boredom.…See More

I've been building websites with Joomla! for about 2 years now. None of them professionally as I have created them all for my self as a hobby, mainly. I really enjoy the construct of Joomla! as apposed to other CMS applications, it is much prettier in the backend as well as in the front. Much easier to use and very fun all at the same time.
