I like the Celtic knot. It is a 9 knot, perhaps a 6 knot would provide a somewhat less dense logo while retaining the 4 colour requirement. Alternatively the representation of the threads could be narrower which might provide the same effect. This…

You can see a draft Manual here. This is the top of the structure. Next to make the page template and connect that, then tidy up the mess I am making on the Wiki and then to add content to the pages. All feedback gratefully received. Thanks TD

Now you can look at some design product following the ideas in this post. The first page of the Manual might look like this. The first page of each Chapter might look like this. And the Topic Pages might look like this. Following the description c…

I do not think I have access to Google Wave.

The image naming convention described has been moved to the wiki and can be found here.

Apologies for doing a few somersaults but what is required is becoming clearer. I would greatly appreciate your views on what is proposed. A sketch of this will be available on the wiki within the next 48 hours.

Have you signed up to the wiki? If you have please post more detail on the problem you are having and I shall try to assist.

Manoel, thank you. It is changed.

Thank you Greg Voice - I am on it. However, my major goal is to understand the process involved in quickly constructing a User Manual. Nearly there. Information Hierarchy - It seems that there are folk here who consider beginners to include first t…

Please comment on this Joomla Quick Start guide. It has been an interesting and informative exercise. Next product will be some sample pages for documentation of 1.6 and some guidance on how to build them.

Is this the kind of thing you have in mind? The link to Talk pages does not work because of the context. If moved to a normal wiki page it will work. It is an interesting exercise for me in thinking about the 1.6 Manual.

I believe that we are near to the point where folk can contribute freely. Please do so and report what is difficult/easy, what you like/dislike. All comment gratefully received. The start page of the Manual Draft is here. What you see is a long lis…

Manual/1/4 is the page - sorry I forgot.

Manual/1/4 is on Migration. I do not understand 1.14, can you give the URL? I am only just getting on top of the Naming Conventions so that we keep names short (or shortish) and let the sub page list appear on the parent page. A couple of days and…

I endorse that absolutely. 1. The existing wiki will be expanded to provide lots of pages to work on. 2. If anyone writes in Word, Open Office or whatever that is fine and I will do the markup 3. I will also post a wiki page advising how to use the…

I am happy with that approach. Do you have a tool in mind? Word processed pages would seem to be the most obvious. Do you agree? For the moment I am happy with where I am at and there are two bits to it. 1. Playing with the wiki. Very happy with c…

Joomla! ingenue impressed by what I've seen so far. Looking to contribute. Grateful for guidance.

Began computing in 1954 in UK and have seen valves, FORTRAN, PL/1 come and go. Was involved in the development of relational db - both academically and DB2 - but recently have mostly been involved as a wise (?) old (definitely) man giving guidance with others doing the work. And - don't tell my wife - I am missing the work!
