"That is correct. ReReplacer does it's replacing through its system plugin. But Stian is correct in saying that costs server power. Like any system plugin it has to be called and do it's thing. Which costs server time and power. Not much,…"

"Thanks for clarifying Laura. The situation you describe was for me a lesson well learned... I never ever use one of the standard templates that come with Joomla. Simply because of the updates issue. My suggestion in this case: create a copy of the…"

"Laura - If we are going to rant, Why stop there? Why can't we just turn those sequence numbers off to begin with? Is there anyone who really wants sequence numbers? I sure don't! As others are saying, one of Joomla!'s strengths is…"

"A bit of self promoting again... That's why I made ReReplacer. You can manipulate the output joomla/extensions generate without touching any files. So not only for Joomla core files, but also 3rd party extensions. As Rene said, you can use…"

"Mainly I try to avoid modifying core files by using (template) overrides. The example you're describing (take the numbers off the table that lists a category of articles) can be done very very easy by using template overrides. If I do need a…"

Please share a bit about your Joomla! Experience and yourself. The more information you provide the quicker we will be able to process your membership.
I like to dabble... Let me clarify.
My Joomla! experience started about three years ago when I started looking into CMSs. I threw it on my server and was hooked from that day.

I'm primarily a housewife with the distinct advantage of having had a lot of technology at my disposal throughout the last 20 years. This serves two purposes for me: keeps my brain from turning into mush (housework will do that, you know) and to earn side money (which my husband thinks is cute.) I only consider myself a "professional" because people pay me for my services - and that's how my tax accountant defines it. But I don't know if I fit any other definition of that word.
