First draft mockup of the Joomla! Community Magazine

I'm glad to announce that Komrade/JoomlaWorks has finished the first draft mockup of the "Joomla! Community Magazine".

The thinking behind the design:
- clear, concise UI: navigate easily, find what you need easily even if you're new to Joomla!
- it's community oriented, so the efforts/activities of its members/community should be displayed with higher priority, thus the focus on "community engagement". That means focus on people, events and everything that is generated by the community for the community and the project.
- focus on both printed content (articles) and multimedia content (images, videos etc.)
- clear banner positions to cover the site's expenses (if required)
- include the most important news coverage/activity from joomla.org

So, without further adieu: http://projects.komrade.gr/mockups/magazine.joomla.org/ (wait a few secs for the design to load, it's a 1MB PNG 24bit background image)

I'd love to read your comments, suggestions and more.

Kudos to our talented designer, Chiara Aliotta :)

Thanks to all the community members that put their trust on our work.

(...and please excuse any typos, it's just the first draft!)

UPDATE v2 (Dec. 17th, 2009): We've updated the mockup to include some suggestions from experienced J! community members - thank you all.

UPDATE v3 (Jan 1st, 2010): We've just added the joomla.org integrated mockup to the v2 proposal. More here: http://projects.komrade.gr/mockups/magazine.joomla.org/index2.php

It looks very nice Fotis!

I'm not so fond of those blue colors. But that's just me!
I would use a brighter blue and perhaps orange for links (or just important links).
