International Joomla! Day/Conference/Meeting in Germany 30. May - 1.June

Some weeks ago we have finished our Joomla!Day here in Germany. One of our attendees gave me the name of a cheap and good location for our next Joomla!day. I have booked the location 2 days later, because it is so cheap that booking can't be a mistake. I'd like to offer this location for an "International Joomla! Day/Conference/Meeting".

Where it is?
It is near Wiesbaden/Frankfurt with good public transport possibilities and via Frankfurt with good flight connections worldwide. The Name is "Wilhelm-Kemp-Haus" (here the link to the Website but the site is only in German). I have booked the hole location.

What do we get?
* room for 240 attendees
* over 14 rooms for presentations or talks
* free WLAN
* modern technical equipment
and many things more, I'm perfectly happy with the location

What can we do on tree days?
I think the first day should be a "Community Day", maybe in unconference style. This day could be focused on meet people and having fun.
Second day could be a day with business topics: Business Models, Success Stories, Marketing, .... all the funny things we love and hate :-)
Last but not least, the third day could be the developers Day. Not easy to know now what is an important topic in seven months, but at the moment we need only a headline for the day and "Developers Day" is my suggestion.

International Joomla! Event May 30 - June 1, 2010, (near) Frankfort, Germany

Count me IN! Awesome!

I hope we are able to have at least a portion of the presentations based on community submissions and attendee voting (maybe after people pay for their ticket?)

I am very happy to see this. The ability for all of us hardcore Joomla! folks to meet on occasion is really important for community development.

Certainly, let's make sure Ryan and Alex are involved. I'm confident they will be very happy to see this kind of community pride and desire to meet.

Thanks so much!

BTW: Frankfort was a place I wanted to see and didn't get to visit on my EU vacation. So, way cool!

Great Robert. I was hoping it would be around the Frankfurt area. I will be there with Eddie at least.

Amy you are counted in :-)

Community submissions are absolutely necessary, we have capacity/rooms for more than 50 presentations/talks a day.

Alex is involed, I have spoken with him a week ago. Later, I will send a email to Ryan to inform him and OSM. We should not forget at the moment this is an offer. I don't see any reason that this event will not taken place, but you knows.

RE-BTW: just my 2 cents, but the best in Frankfurt is the maker "you are leaving Frankfurt".

"What we need? - People they are willing to help" It would be good to describe how. More details please ;-)

*lol* Don't scare the international attendees off. It's not that bad, there are some nice places :-)

Robert - I have it on my calendar. Of course, we will meet! Why wouldn't we? After all - it's our first International event and it's near Frankfurt! :)

/me starts pricing a Mac. Can't show up with a PC for crying out loud!

I would love to come, and love to help. Should you need someone with a degree in video production, let me know! But man, its a year too late, I just moved back from Germany a month ago. However, it would give me a good chance to practice my German again!

A full international event for Joomla can only be positive for the project, especially in an international hub like Frankfurt.

Oh, how I would love to attend, but my sister is getting married so I have to be in Belize at the same time! :-(

LMAO @Robert Deutz: just my 2 cents, but the best in Frankfurt is the sign "you are leaving Frankfurt"

Hope the event takes place as the location is perfect and the organizers are professionals (you know I'll be there) and can't wait to meet a few Yankees :)
