Joomla! Search
I have think and say to Ryan Ozimek(@cozimek) in Joomla! Day Brazil. Another idea.. Why Joomla! not have a special search just for Indexes sites with use Joomla! and have special features like:
- Search by extension type: Docman, Content...
- API to developers use and integrate own sites
- Special page ranking
- Adsense
- etc..
Just index sites using Joomla! Maybe we can construct a plugin to every update on site inform the main search.

Yup. This is good directions. Not sure if you are aware of the work the JXtended team is doing with Finder. I think they are heading in some of these directions, too. This is absolutely needed. Joomla! search is very antiquated and in need of replacement with a content based solution. Good ideas, Julio.
