Joe LeBlanc has a very interesting article on How to Joomla!. In Joomla! 1.0, Content Plugins fired for Modules. Such is not the case for Joomla! 1.5. In his article: How to Fix Joomla Content Plugins, Joe discusses strategies you can use to work around that challenge.

In addition to Joe's material, I recommend looking at Ian MacLennan's Module Custom Content. In the helper file, Ian creates a content array and fires the content plugins. That's another approach, in addition to the methods Joe described, that can be considered.
