Have you heard of Minima?

NO?!

Minima is a remedy for Joomla's administration backend.

It's a new concept of a minimal and easier Joomla backend.

It consists of an admin template, a few modules (2) and some overrides.
Soon to be more (more overrides and some plugins).

This week I've put a demo of minima online so check it out:
(demo:demo)

I've created a topic in people.joomla to report bugs:

Know issues:

- Some buttons "save-as-copy" are gray (it will be fixed soon)

- In some places, the click row to select doesn't work due to incompatibility with the new multiselect.js. It will be fixed.

- Can't change the shortcuts yet (that menu on the top)

- The filter behaves weirdly in some places. That's because it's nearly impossible to detect in Joomla if something is selected or not. It will be fixed (somehow).

- And if you say It looks bad on IE I'll send you the famous "O'RLY?" owl photo.

Please note that I can't release Minima until Joomla gets at least a RC state.

A good example of why is this click-row problem that occurs in some views, it started after it was added this 'mutiselect.js' script.

So I need to wait until no more changes and fixes are done on the backend.

That said, Minima is in a Alpha stage. After some bugs fixed and when J 1.6 gets stable it will be launched to the public soon after.

And yes, there is a chance (not guaranted) that Minima can come to J! 1.5.19+ thanks to mootools 1.2

It depends on how well will it work and the bugs :)

I need your feedback. Please report any bugs you may find.

Thank you!

Absolutely amazing work Marco! With some minor additions, tweaks or changes, this could be the default admin template for 1.6! Keep it up!

This is a great back-end template. I think so, with some changes this template should be default one for Joomla 1.6

I've been watching this on the people UX group, and must say, it's quite impressive! Looking forward to seeing this released!

Bravo Marco. As I told you during J and Beyond: nobody could even expect that Joomla admin might look like this!
