Moments of crisis may result in a positive development in the community?

Did someone more agree that in times when people fight, this can result in a change more drastic actions that are 'not so good' But all 'agree' because nobody complains?

It is evident that fights for something they can separating people, but you already thought about that may not take it personally and see that this kind of discussion can be positive?

In 2009, joomla, people involved with joomla and actions of the community joomla has suffered attacks of a series of discussions, people clashed in fights that almost looked like they should be resolved in a combat mat.

Someone here might think about, and comment on something that happened in the productive function of these clashes in any respect for you? Even is if only your personal opinion?

Lets comment about this.

On Brazil, some discussions that also generate my post OSM and local JUGs: lack of rules or not? Post about JUG ethics (http://www.alltogetherasawhole.org/profiles/blogs/osm-and-local-jug...) and makes some people on Brazil, now appears that not only new people are starting to get involved, but also old people are changing they minds. Some Brazilian JUGs are now are trying to be a bit more participative 'as a JUG' and, in Portuguese, generate threads like this:

JoomlaDF.com.br, one 'replacement' of pseudo JUG www.joomlabrasilia.org
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=477897
Joomla!Paidegua will now try to show for All Brazil they local JUG news on other sites
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=477673

Also now, a few Brazil JUGs are now in one private mailing list to think about what we all, as a Brazilian JUGs, can help each other, and also try to define what we can do and what not, based on past experiences of each one.

Provably these more drastic actions (and these are not the only on last days) would never occour if do not have some fight to change minds.

Emerson -

I agree. In fact, I would go so far to say that the will of the people bring change. That's true whether it's a community, like the Brazilian communities, or the Joomla! community, as a whole, or even a country.

I heard an excellent political discussion on the disappointment some have in President Obama in my country that he has not brought the change promised. The point was raised that reform comes from the people and typically out of very difficult times and leaders rise up and drive local action. If it makes sense to others, it spreads, and people bring change.

I think the Joomla! community has gotten a little lethargic, a little lazy, we've started to take our project for granted. There has been a lot of criticism of our leaders but we have to accept personal responsibility for the project if we hope to help bring positive change.

I see the Brazilian community doing just that and it's exciting. There are good questions raised and people care and are getting involved. w00t!

I think the Joomla! Community Magazine is an excellent example of a positive change that this community helped initiate - and *way to go!* for the project accepting it and leading the charge on making it happen.

We need to keep working.
