New Official Forum for the Joomla! Community Magazine

I am delighted to announce that there is now an official Joomla! Community Magazine forum! It can be found in the Official Joomla! Sites and Infrastructure Section on the home page of the Joomla! Forum website.

Now that the Community Working Group has fully signed off on the Unified Proposal/RFP for the magazine, now is a good time to begin transitioning official magazine communications and collaborations to that forum. That forum has more visibility with the broader Joomla! Community, and it will be the best place to archive discussions which pertain to the magazine.

This announcement does not mean that people can't continue to freely talk about the magazine here. It simply means that the discussions tied directly to the actual work that will take place for the magazine should take place there.

Everyone should recognize that this represents a significant milestone for the magazine project. It signifies that the Joomla! project is excited to see the magazine grow and thrive and become an important part of the overall Joomla! web presence.

Congratulations to everyone who has been involved in the magazine project. We have lots more work to do before our first issue is published, but the finish line is in sight.

Beers for everyone are on me!

This is very exciting! Everyone should feel good about helping make this happen; it's truly a community driven activity and it's awesome that the project has agreed to take it on, provided a welcoming place to work, and will showcase the magazine on property.

I'm looking forward to seeing Komrade design come to life! n. I am eager to contribute an article as an occasional author.

Over the next few days, Paul, or Dex, or myself will try to get ahold of each person who volunteered to help as a member of the Magazine Team so that everyone knows to report for duty at the new forum for the Joomla! Community Magazine.

Thanks for the brew, Paul, and for all the work you've done so far! This will be spectacular!

We need to find what info/threads need to be brought over to the new forum for those who haven't been following AllTogetherAsAWhole.org so we can hopefully get everyone "up to speed" with what the Magazine Team has been working on.

As an FYI - I sent the team members identified here the following note. Of course, others will participate, too, but I wanted to make certain our original team knows the current status and are able to jump back in!

Thanks!

Hey everybody! The Joomla! Community Magazine is ready to move forward!

Paul Orwig has created a new forum on the Joomla! Forums for this group (you!) to use as you work together to produce the magazine.

The forum is located here: http://forum.joomla.org/viewforum.php?f=573

Please take a moment to review the October post that listed Team Members and Roles - and see if you still have interest and time to participate in the role indicated for your name.

The Joomla! Community Magazine Team is listed here: http://www.alltogetherasawhole.org/group/magazine/forum/topics/joom...

Please let the group know if you can - or cannot - participate by posting into the Welcome Thread Paul Orwig created.

The Welcome thread is located here: http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=573&t=478659

This is going to be a spectacular resource for our community - Komrade's design is breathtaking - http://www.alltogetherasawhole.org/profiles/blogs/complete-design-p... - with the talent of people involved - (and the new ones who will join in) this resource should be the best OSCMS magazine around.

Thanks to all for your contributions to Joomla! - it's a great community and project!

Amy :)

PS - would someone please forward this to lafrance? I don't have him on my list! Thanks!
