I'm looking for simple image gallery component that would have the following:
  1. categories/galleries with thumbnails
  2. large images open is lightbox/slimbox or similar
  3. an ability to resize images (large and thumbnails)
  4. can upload multiple files
  5. minimal & clean look
  6. no noticeable bugs
  7. no frontend uploading/editing/comments/rating/descriptions/crap/crap/crap (...ok..at least option to turn it off)
  8. no spam links

Ideally there would also be a plugin that would allow direct inclusion of galleries in articles.

Any recommendations? Everyhing I try is either buggy or ugly or includes hidden surprises.

Simple Image Gallery + K2?
Datso (Commercial GPL)
Phoca Gallery

Simple looks like what I'm looking for..but it is a plugin, I'm looking for a component with galleries.
Phoca contains backlinks (at least used to..) and is ... not clean enough - a lot of work to get rid of stuff I don't need and to get a look I'm looking for. Datso is ok, but also too heavy.

Klas, if you use Simple Image Gallery with K2, it is much simpler and easy. Give it a try.

Actually Jseblod CCK I use in this project works with Simple too..thank's Ivo for opening my eyes..

Vs. Ignite that seems to fit my requirements exactly.

Now I'm faced with two good suggestions, something very hard for a hardcore libra zodiac sign like me :)

btw - I find that there are a lot of J extensions out there I'm not able to purchase because sellers cannot issue an invoice and I'm legally required to get for any purchase as I'm buying for a company, wonder how others get around that

Klas,
In Bulgaria, if you don't have invoice for certain expense, you just have to pay 10% tax on the expense.

I need it as otherwise tax authorities assume that money went to my pocket and company would have to pay all taxes that go with that (cca. 40%...). Only other option is to have a contract with the one who sold you something as private person (vs. company that is a legal entity).
