Hi Everyone,
I've looked in various places to find what Joomla Web Administrators might be using to keep up with all of their customer's (and personal) Joomla-based web sites. But, I have not found any recommendations or comments as of this time. Being a mostly unorganized person by nature (I'm a musician - that should explain it... ;) ), it is my goal to overcome this in me by being well organized with my client's web sites. I want to be the most accountable & responsive webmaster they've ever known. Since Joomla is what I use most and since it requires staying on top of all version updates as well as extension updates, I'm curious what tools that other Joomla administrators and developers are using to keep all their clients' sites updated.
In the past, I've used some kind of Journal program and lately it's been a spreadsheet. I am considering using ListPro from
Ilium Software because they now have a version for the iPhone as well as for the PC. It's a very good list application that, when I was using a HP IPAQ (Windows Mobile), was very handing for maintaining different lists I was using. Now that they've just released their iPhone version (Android coming soon) I want to get back into using it.
I use their eWallet application on my iPhone and PC which is a lifesaver for maintaining passwords for all the web site I access & maintain. We know what a challenge it is to maintain security so this is a vital tool.
For maintaining notes for my clients, I now use
Evernote Premium ($5 per month) and it not only provides an iPhone and PC application, but also a web interface. This means I can get to it from anywhere with my iPhone, my PC or another PC that is connected to the Internet. They also have apps for many other devices as well as the Mac.
So, I would like to know what others are using to keep up with your clients' web sites? Would love to know if there are better tools available? Perhaps it's time for one of the many talented programmers to create something like this (or is there something available now)?
Thanks!
Bill
