The Character Debate
The American President has always been one of my favorite movies. It's all about personal weakness, growth, holding one another to account, love, loss, moving on, and character.
In the movie, Senator Rumson was forever straying away from the real issues, and instead was able to masterfully move the discussion into the realm of character, chipping away at reputation, but never advancing any cause or bringing any improvements.
Finally, the President responded. It is a great speech.
